Future Space
So far, only the space agencies of five countries have managed to land on the Moon: the United States, the former Soviet Union, China, India, and Japan. Only one private company (Intuitive Machines) has succeeded, while several high-profile missions have failed due to various technical issues. This is a stark reminder that, even more than half a century after the Apollo era, safely landing on our satellite remains a challenging and dangerous feat. Recently, only China has had full success with the complicated Chang’e 6 mission, which managed to land on the surface, collect rock samples, take off, and head back to Earth.
