The furthest artificial object in space is Voyager 1. Around 14.6 billion miles separate it from Earth. Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were launched in 1977 with the primary purpose of exploring Jupiter and Saturn. Voyager 1 prioritized Saturn’s enormous moon, Titan, placing it on a new track to the edge of the solar system, whereas Voyager 2 prioritized Uranus and Neptune.
