Hubble Space Telescope’s recent stunning image of the AFGL 5180 nebula, located 4,900 light-years away in the constellation Gemini. This nebula is part of the “Gem OB1” cloud complex, where new stars are born. The image reveals a young, fiery star illuminating the surrounding gas, creating new cavities as it grows. We also explore Hubble’s capture of the unusual galaxy UGC 12588, which, with its unstructured, cinnamon bun-like shape, stands apart from typical spiral galaxies.
